Jean Yves and Charles have their birthdays within a few days of each other, as this year Charles' birthday fell on a Saturday, Victoria and I chose to hijack them both on the Saturday to celebrate their birthdays.

We had been talking about going to watch an island football match, now of us really had a team that we support in the Seychelles Leagues but we had been convinced to become St. Michel FC supporters. So on that Saturday, St. Michel were actually playing Red Star Defence Forces and we had been told it was a game not to be missed.
So we set off for our match, with a stock of Kettle Chips as match day snacks as we were not entirely sure if there would be any snacks at the stadium. On that note there are one or two stalls that sell burgers and soft drinks, not sure about beer but being in Seychelles I am sure it was on sale or people just brought it with them.
I have been to English Premier League games before, which a stadium basically could take at least 3/4s of our entire population so you can imagine the atmosphere is quite different. But nevertheless, the supporters were in full voice cheering along, yelling at the refs and commentating in creole along the way which gave such a great atmosphere to the game. Sadly St. Michel lost and that was a small downer on the day but we had fun.
After the game, we set off for a drive around the north of Mahe, along the North East Point coastal road which I highly recommend to do! The boys still didn't know where we would be going for dinner as we wanted to surprise them as they are both sushi fanatics. We had booked at Coral Asia, which is the sushi restaurant of Coral Strand and the first restaurant of the Foodie Bucket List to be checked off.
So we had to con them into thinking we were going to Coral Strand for drinks and then we'd grabbed take away pizza and eat it on the beach. Surprisingly they believed it and even as we made our way up to the restaurant they thought we were only there for drinks. Once we got there and asked for our reservation, it clicked and we were happy enough that they were surprised. We decided on the sushi boat, which was an assortment of sushi from nigiri to tuna rolls to sashimi, unfortunately ours didn't arrive in the boat as they didn't have enough!
The fish was fresh which makes sense as most fish used is from the Seychelles waters, except the salmon which was as fresh as it could be. Their menu is quite extensive so you would be able to go several times to be able to try all items.
