Birthdays, Sushi and Concerts ...

Sometimes trying to figure out what to do for your birthday on the islands can be a little difficult but it does help when there is a concert held on the night of your birthday. This year on my birthday there was Rampage 2017, a fairly new music festival in the Seychelles and this year the headlining act was Walshy Fire from Major Lazer.

So my cousins and I decided, as we had all been craving for awhile, that we would have some sushi before heading out to the concert. When you think of food in Seychelles... sushi is definitely not the first thing that comes to mind.

Sushi is a very new on the culinary scene on the islands but it seems to becoming popular amongst the locals. Many resorts in the Seychelles are serving sushi, for example The Kempinski Resort and H Hotel Resort. Coral Asia Restaurant found in the Coral Strand hotel is a restaurant dedicated to all things Sushi. All three of which I am yet to try out but are on my Restaurant Bucket List (Keep posted for this post in the near future).

We decided on Club Liberte Casino at Anse Soleil near to the Four Seasons Resort to satisfy our sushi cravings. Club Liberte offers a small menu of sushi options from Nigiri to Sashimi to California Rolls to Maki Rolls. Being on the islands, they do use local seafood such as tuna, marlin and octopus.

Once we finally made our choice, we stuffed our faces with all the sushi and we washed them down with cocktails.

Despite the weather, we then headed to the concert and met up with friends and danced away the rest of the night together to the sounds of Major Lazer.
